Replacement of the roof of the montreal olympic stadium

The roof of the Montreal Olympic Stadium must be replaced to restore the full functionality of this Québec landmark and transform it into a premier event venue. With a total cost of $870 million, this ambitious project includes the installation of a fixed, rigid roof complemented by a transparent glass ring, paying tribute to the vision of its designer, Roger Taillibert. The project involves dismantling the old roof and replacing the technical ring, enhancing the stadium’s capacity to host major events and boosting the tourism and economic appeal of East Montreal.

Contribution BFS

  • Facilitation of a “collaborative” risk analysis between the project owner and contractor, fostering open sharing of cost overrun risks and cost-saving opportunities
  • Development of risk profiles for each component of the project, including dismantling of the existing roof and construction of the new roof
  • Identification of risk response plans and quantification of the proposed mitigation measures
  • Execution of quantitative risk analysis and Monte Carlo simulation to determine a joint risk contingency
  • Provision of neutral and independent advice to structure a fair risk-sharing agreement between the owner and contractor, enabling contract finalization
